Preparations Complete For Imran Khan's Transfer From Jail To Islamabad Hospital

Preparations have been completed for the possible transfer of jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad, with security tightened around the facility, according to local Pakistani media reports. A heavy deployment of police and Rangers was reported outside the hospital as authorities finalised arrangements for Khan's possible transfer. Senior police officials also visited the facility to review the security plan. Khan is expected to enter the hospital through Gate No. 1, according to the reports. Multiple media reports said that security was stepped up on Thursday night as the deadline approached for the transfer of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder for medical treatment under a Supreme Court order. Filmfare Awards 2024: Sam Bahadur Wins Big In Technical Category

The Curtain Raiser of the 69th Filmfare Awards kickstarted in Gujarat on Saturday with a ceremony that saw Sam Bahadur winning in three technical categories, including Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design and Best Production Design. Actors Aparshakti Khurana and Karishma Tanna hosted the 69th Filmfare Awards Curtain Raiser ceremony, during which winners for technical categories, including cinematography, screenplay, costumes and editing, were announced. Ganesh Acharya won the Best Choreography Award for his work on the track What Jhumka? from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. 12th Fail took home the trophy for Best Editing, whereas SRK's Jawan was adjudged the winner of Best Special Effects (visual) and Best Action.

Animal bagged the honours for Best Background Score and the Best Sound Design Award was shared by Animal and Sam Bahadur.

Hollywood Shuts Down As Actors Go On Strike

Hollywood's actors announced Thursday they will go on strike, joining writers in the first industry-wide shutdown in 63 years after last-ditch talks failed, with nearly all film and television production set to grind to a halt. The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA), which represents 160,000 performers including A-list stars, said negotiations had ended without a deal on their demands over dwindling pay and the threat posed by artificial intelligence. "SAG-AFTRA's national board unanimously voted to issue a strike order against the studios and streamers," said the union's chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland.
